  Is the program running?

Does anyone know how to poll the RCX (with standard firmware 2.0) to find out whether a program has terminated yet? If you can see the LCD, you can see whether the little man is still moving, but can you check this from a host computer? The (...) (23 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  RCX Firmware speed versus legOS

The discussion about the Firmware speed is intresting indeed. So I did a fast, by no means representative, reserch. The following program is a legOS program reading the light sensor, calculating some values and printing the elapsed time: ---...--- (...) (23 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Multiple IR Towers: Success

Hi folks, Last night I went ahead and built what I thought was a good stab at a multiple-IR tower connector cable. It worked, first go. Doh. Wow! Hey..thanks..that was it. I hadn't changed my batteries in any of my RCX since I got them. When I changed all of them a few weeks ago, I must have lost the firmware. I managed to slap together a robot this morning in about an hour and half. After fixing one major design flaw, I was basically covering up the IR port, I discovered it's about a 1/4 inch too long. I hope this isn't a problem. I'll definitely build a (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: RIS 2.0 or 1.5 (minimum requirements)

The 2.0 firmware is available separately from LEGO as part of the 2.0 SDK. You can use this firmware with a 1.5 set (or even a 1.0 set). If you are not planning on using the Lego software then the only difference between 2.0 and 1.5 is that 2.0 has (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)
