| I recently bought RIS 2.0 with the idea to use NQC on my Linux computer. Yesterday I tried to locate the firmware from the CD-ROM that comes with the box, but I could not find the firmxxx.lgo file. | Is the firmware still installed on the RCX? When you turn it on if it just shows a single digit, then there isn't any firmware. With firmware loaded you should see something like "00.00!1" where ! is the LCD icon of a person. If firmware is not (...) (23 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics)

| Hi, I have 2.5 installed on a iBook running OS9.2.2 with both a Belkin USB serial convertor and a Xircom convertor. | Hi Thomas, I just found that the retry count for EAGAIN in RCX_USBTowerPipe_linux::Write() was too small (10) for handling the large packets used in firmware downloading. It ran out of retries middle way in sending the continue downloading command (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

| The part about the red paint is true, at least it was for Toys R Us when I used to dumpster dive. And don't think they toss it out by opening the boxes and tossing the sealed bags, so that even if there's paint spalshed on you can salvage some of (...) | I am using legOS to program a robot for a uni project because the other stuff is aparently too simple but i cant delete the current programs off the RCX to download the new firmware.
