  Re: "Non-Robolab" LabView functions

(...) ---...--->snip I've not had the time yet to analyze the patch. Seems that you replace the first firmware handler. In Robolab the firmware is found under ..ROBOLAB\Engine\RCX1\Text. Firstly, do you have the firmware on the RCX in question? If the screen shows 00.00.00 then you should be good (i think). Turn on the RCX, and start pressing buttons. Connected motors and lights should start doing "things" repsonding to the (...) (15 years ago, 26-Oct-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Thanks for the response. (...) It seems to me it's a design flaw in the entire method of counting rotations, which relies on the theoretical ideal of "instantaneous" voltage changes, which can't be produced. You can't go from 2V to 5V without (...) (21 years ago, 27-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab)

Source Code for Enhanced Firmware 1.28

Hi, Recently, John Hansen's Enhanced Firmware version 1.28 was posted to BrixCC. I'm trying to find out if the Source Code is available for that version. The source package (URL) appears to be for the old firmware (1.06) only (as of Sept 16 2009). (...) (15 years ago, 18-Sep-09, to lugnet.robotics.nxt.nxthacking)

You need a computer and either a serial or USB IR tower to download the firmware into the RCX unit before it will respond to the remote control. (...) I believe that is exactly what legOS does. It compiles your program and stores it in the firmware area. legOS has no firmware, and it ignores the ROM code, too. It accesses all the hardware directly. That's my understanding, at least. (21 years ago, 5-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)
