  Re: Why NQC over Robolab?

(...) I'm not very familiar with Robolab so I can't give you a direct comparison between the two. But I can say a few things about NQC that might help. With NQC you write programs in a more traditional style of programming (ala C, C++, C#, Java, (...) (20 years ago, 7-Dec-04, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: New RIK-user hints, bumpers, many topics

(...) I don't much like C, but I used NQC as a means to an end because it uses the standard firmware. If I am going to have to go to the trouble of downloading new firmware then I'll go with FORTH (not just because I have a Jupiter Ace in the loft). (25 years ago, 16-Apr-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  NQC's future

I'm very interested in hearing from NQC users what their needs/wishes are for future enhancements. Here's my current list of updates/enhancements that I am working on. 1. Built-in and documented Spybot API. 2. Fast firmware download via USB tower (...) (21 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

(...) Argh! Yes, you are right. I was asumimg that since the standard firmware can send arbitrary packets (that is right, isn't it?), it ought to be able to receive them as well. Time to consider alternate firmware. (21 years ago, 6-Sep-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Programming the RCX

Hi Rob, You can get the original version of RCXCC to support the RCX2 firmware. The main change is to add the following line to your autoexec.bat: SET NQC_OPTIONS=-TRCX2 Of course, you also need the new firmware and a version of NQC that supports (...)   How much memory finally?

I'm trying to figure out how much memory the RCX has.
