This is possible to do, yes you will receive annoying messages that you won't be able to save or upload any models you create, but at least you can wander around in a daze trying to make something using the 'free build' option. Well, I blogged about it, and wanted to make sure I shared it with the folks that inspired me (LUGNET). I've never been really interested in LEGO boats, because in the first place I couldn't see much use for them (guiding a robot over featureless (...) To add some further information, I popped the unit open last night and observed that, as I had hoped, mechanically the unit should be capable of operating correctly. Each motor channel has a mouse style slotted wheel and sensor, so the firmware (...) (21 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)

We also had low battery ... on MARS! We beamed one human being to replace them. Then we had the firmware lost. This was a job only for Scotty. Now all seems to work again for three quarters of an hour. Then everything will be shut down until (...) (21 years ago, 11-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Andrew, I grabbed a ROM image awhile back using a serial tower and an RCX 1.0. I haven't tried this on a 2.0 brick, but I think the ROMware is identical in all RCX versions. Hi, I'm doing a project at University involving developing some example programs running on a Lego RCX in order to demonstrate/teach OS concepts. Provide a pre-compiled version of: 1.GCC built for host=MingW (ligtweight toolchain for win32 systems that doesnt need bulky cygwin dlls) and target=rcx or whatever. 2.the BrickOS tools buit using MingW and (...) Hello John, Worked fine for me, with the following setup: RCX2.0, USB tower, BricxCC 3.3.7.6, firm0328.lgo, Win2000. Distance between tower and brick: 20 cm. Download time: 1'25" I tried also 50 cm away (worked) and 1 m away (failed). Philo (21 years ago, 3-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) no no, i will only use the indirect control for the main spindle, which will use the power motor. the axis drives will use normal technic motors (from the mindstorms set). right now i'm designing some cutters, see my other thread in the (...)
