  Re: Loctite for bonding Lego

(...) I think LEGO uses Loctite in its Model Shops when glueing together Technic pieces. They used to use MEK - Methyl Ethyl Keytone (spelling?) - for the 'regular' ABS plastic bricks, but I don't know what they're using now. (MEK doesn't "stick" to (...)   More medieval village

Just to get people's interest up for the benefit event, and to show some things I've been talking about, I've posted a few pics of my newest medieval stuff to Brickshelf.   What kind of plastic?

Hello, Lego is ABS plastic; MEK (Methyl-Ethyl Ketone) is good for glueing it. You might want to search through the lugnet.robotics archive, as there was an extensive thread on this last year. Hope this helps, Simon (...) (26 years ago, 11-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: What kind of plastic?

PVC pipe cement is the easiest kind of glue to get hold of for gluing Lego bricks. It is "VERY" effective. Use a tooth pick to apply it - you don't need much! As far as axles and other axle related parts, they are made of something quite different - (...) (26 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)
