Re: LEGO reports improved financial results

(...) Very tricky. I have gone through the annual report - but its not clear whether what's happened is the start of a long contraction down to a niche player or more of a once-off adjustment that's a foundation for modest growth. A couple of (...) (19 years ago, 8-Apr-05, to lugnet.lego)

Re: USS Enterprise aircraft carrier, version 2.

You really solved some tricky problems in that hull! The shape of the deck is very complex and you managed to capture it. I have never seen the a picture of the Enterprise's hull and keel, so I can't comment on accuracy. But I think I'd prefer a (...) (...) Maybe its on the same side as the merchant ships. Maybe its a model of the Danish Navy's U1. (URL) Still military but not as scary as a Nazi submarine. (19 years ago, 15-Apr-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) Yes. (...) We enjoyed Lego as kids. Its fun, safe and high quality. Every kid deserves Lego. If they don't already have some, its great to be the person to introduces them to it.   Re: Massive Layoffs At Lego (in Enfield, CT)

I don't know about you, but Lego's business decisions seem to have been a lot more consistent and rational in the last 2 years, thus opening less opportunities for amateur traders like me to make a buck.   Toa W/No CD?

This is very strange... I picked up a set of Toa the other day and two of them (Galli and Lewa) didn't come with the 3" CD like the others.   Re: Defining the term "Capital Ship"

(...) Why would you even WANT to set a capital ship down? Assuming a mass of 90,000 (American) tons, you would have to expend roughly 4.91*10^18 joules to get a Nimitz class carrier into space. That's equivalent to about 1.174 megatons of TNT. To (...) (22 years ago, 31-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)
