Well the first LEGO plastic produced for Automatic Binding Bricks (LEGO bricks from 1949-53) by TLG Billund Denmark were made of Cellulose Acetate. LEGO sales were started in Asia in 1962 and thereabouts in Japan and other countries... Hong Kong, Lebanon and Singapore... and later other countries. I had forgotten all about this thread until a Finnish LEGO collector found the "Barn" in Finland that originally produced 70% of the LEGO produced for (...) LEGO was first introduced to Asia in 1962, when sales started in Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong. Sales started off very slowly, and remained so for a very long time. While this color does more closely resemble the actual recent color of the new Maersk line of ships... (...) 2 years ago my German Friend Lothar found some beatiful blue Norwegian alphabet bricks with gold printing from a 1957 #1234 Norwegian Alphabet Bricks Parts Pack. I have a German 1968 catalog. Some of the Parts Packs have ...... you guessed it. TILES! They had 3 different sets: red/white tiles, blue/yellow tiles, and black/grey tiles. This had the 1x1, 1x2 and 2x2 (I didn't see the 1x2 with central stud (...) (26 years ago, 15-Oct-98, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Todd, Great job! I know this gets difficult when you're dealing with foreign languages and sets with no years anywhere on them. I have about 30-50 sets to add to this list. How do I go about doing that? Also, I have some additional info to add to (...) (26 years ago, 12-Nov-98, to lugnet.admin.database)
