A discussion with a LEGO Archive employee last year about wooden box sets, came
up with a previously unknown use for LEGO sets... the fact that TLG was
marketing the wooden box sets in the early years of their production to Beauty
Parlors and to Barber Shops.
This very interesting story is one of the new "100 things you didn't know about
LEGO" chapter that's added to my DVD/download...
I just finished this yesterday, and it's an interesting history about the least
understood of all LEGO sets the 100 or so wooden box sets that TLG made from
1957-1978. Very few of these are shown in online databases. Enjoy the story
