  Re: Rosa Parks 1913-2005

(...) Very nice Bruce! Here in Detroit I've been watching the funeral services on local TV all day. She lived most of the last 50 years in Detroit with her late husband Raymond. She was an inspiration to all of us. Ironically THE BUS is also here in (...) (19 years ago, 3-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: A Lego History Project

(...) Hey Jim, Thanks for the Lego family history. It is very interesting to note that the first Lego outside of Denmark, was sold in Norway in 1953. No we know why! Good Researching!! Gary Istok (19 years ago, 7-Nov-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Question for Gary Istok

(...) OK, to add to the confusion is the fact that NO catalogs show the #501, #502 or #503 sets. Jan K.'s Billund Vault pictures (which I hadn't seen) sorta takes some of that mystery away. Duplo sales started in 1969 in Europe. These sets would (...) (19 years ago, 20-Nov-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: Advice needed on antique LEGO bricks

(...) Hi Aaron, I have a few questions for you.... First off, I assume that you're from the USA. And when you say "pre-tube", you mean no tubes on the bottom of the bricks, correct? The only place that the tubeless bricks were sold was Denmark, (...) (19 years ago, 10-Nov-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: Advice needed on antique LEGO bricks

(...) Aaron, That is a very good question. The secondary market is good for old Lego specialty items such as old road signs, beams with names, trees/bushes, Esso/Shell Station accessories, etc. But, there is little secondary market for other old (...)   Re: The history of LEGO in Norway

(...) Thanks Jim! Yes Norway was the first country (besides Denmark) that sold Lego. As has already been mentioned the first Lego sales to Norway were sets that were produced IN Norway. This production probably continued on into the late 1950's. By (...) (19 years ago, 23-Nov-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: WANTED! ESSO drum brick 1x1 round 1:87

(...) Here is a pic (from Clark Stephens Brickshelf gallery) of the elusive 1x1 Esso drum. (URL) rare elements were found in either a red or white 1x1 round brick. They were only sold in Denmark from 1955-58 in the Danish #1251 1:87 Bedford Esso (...) (19 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.general)

Re: WANTED! ESSO drum brick 1x1 round 1:87

(...) Besides what Eric already explained, the classic Lego scale (Lego 1x2x3 classic door is 3 bricks tall) is 1:87. That scale was phased out between 1973-80, when first the 1x3x4 door came out (produced 1973-80). The minifig scale 1x4x5 door came (...) (19 years ago, 18-Dec-05, to lugnet.general)

  Rarest Lego Windows/Doors (from Sweden)

Eric Strand brought this to my attention.... I have never seen these before in yellow... From 1953-56 TLG made the first old style windows/doors that matched the classic era windows/doors of 1956-87, but they were without studs on top. These were (...)   Dreaming of a 1960's German/American Lego Christmas......

Happy Holidays to all! Here's my pic (shown it before, but what the heck, it's the Holidays!) of what a circa 1962-63 Lego Christmas would be like if AFOL's existed back then..... :-) I call it a "German-American Christmas", since it shows a mixture (...)   Whatever Happened to Karl-Heinz Vogt??

German Lego collector Karl-Heinz Vogt is one of the best collectors of old Lego. I've tried emailing him in the past, but no response. Now his website: (URL) offline. Has anyone heard from him lately? Gary Istok (19 years ago, 30-Dec-05, to lugnet.general)

  Unknown Minitalia Lego Element?
