  Beautiful Alphabet LEGO bricks...
 
2 years ago my German Friend Lothar found some beatiful blue Norwegian alphabet bricks with gold printing from a 1957 #1234 Norwegian Alphabet Bricks Parts Pack. Unfortunately it appears that Medium Azure (as the color is called in the Bricklink Database) is a new color that will likely replace Maersk blue. While this color does more closely resemble the actual recent color of the new Maersk line of ships... (...) When TLG first started the LEGO System of Play in 1955, TLG immediately created 4 small spare parts pack size LEGO sets (1210, 1211, 1212, 1213). I had forgotten all about this thread until a Finnish LEGO collector found the "Barn" in Finland that originally produced 70% of the LEGO produced for (...) LEGO was first introduced to Asia in 1962, when sales started in Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong. Sales started off very slowly, and remained so for a very long time. LEGO sales were started in Asia in 1962 and thereabouts in Japan and other countries... Hong Kong, Lebanon and Singapore... and later other countries. Well the first LEGO plastic produced for Automatic Binding Bricks (LEGO bricks from 1949-53) by TLG Billund Denmark were made of Cellulose Acetate.
