Re: 1977- Does lego wrap its box with clear plastic?

(...) Johan, as others have already said, yes they did use shrink wrap. I purchased some of the London Bus sets (#760) from 1975-76, and they were sealed in plastic. Gary Istok (25 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

OK Scott. Somehow I knew that your conservativism would lead you to agree with Rush. I suppose if Robert Bork said LEGO was a Danish commie plot, you would agree??   Re: I picked up this 60's ad on ebay

My guess was going to be 1960-62 (the years for the red "sliding drawer" type parts packs), but few people know UK old LEGO as well as Phil does. Hey Phil, that larger set looks like a 700/x set (possibly 700/2, 700/3, 700/3a, or 700/5?). It is (...) (25 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.uk)

(...) I too liked the 70's boxes. But they were no match for some of the very heavy early boxes from 1957-68. The European Town Plan sets (700, 810) were heavy wooden boxes. The USA/Canada Samsonite Town Plan (725) and Junior Constructor (717) were (...) (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Alex since you're in the UK, I'll give you an American perspective and a British perspective: American --- An American haunted house would probably be tall, perhaps 3 stories.   New versions of the Classic Esso Signage/Pumps

For those of you who collect or have an interest in the old '50s and '60s LEGO Esso Service signage and pumps, there are a few new items to collect.
