Re: Hardest Piece to remove? Final Answer

(...) I have no experience with Duplo, but I've had tremendous difficulty removing a 4x4 (or 4x6; I can't remember) from the inside of a Pirates rowboat. Dave! (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Hardest Piece to remove? Final Answer

(...) The final, final answer: :-) Two 2x4 bricks in a duplo car. I still haven't figured out how to get them out, they just fit going in. The duplo tubes are quit tall (relatively) so produce quite a bit of friction. The top of the studs are a (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: How much are tudor walls worth?

(...) Absolutely. You can (almost) always get a better deal on pieces you want buy buying them in mixed lots or complete (new) sets. For a variety of reasons there will always be people willing to pay $100 for exactly what they want rather than $20 (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Where to start...

I know I am going to regret doing this, but I would very much like to get into trains. My only regret is that they seem to be a money pit! I was just curious... Is the 4561 a decent starter set? If not this one, what else? I am looking mainly for a (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Magnetic couplers

I was just curious. Has anyone experimented to see how many cars can be pulled by an engine before the couplers pulled apart from the weight of the cars? Especially when talking about going up inclines. I just wondered if the magnets are strong (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Building Bridges

(...) Jeff, Thanks for the idea for adjusting the height of one side of the bridge. I have been using crown gears to send power to both sides of my bridge.   RE: Laser Module for Mindstorms is Here!

I don't know what the frequency response for a cat eye looks like but most of these laser pointers will fry a human eye if directed into it without us realizing it. The main problem is that the frequency of the pointer is on the fringe of what we (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: IR scanner

The biggest problem I see with using rotating platforms, etc. is that they are slow and use up a bunch of I/O ports to implement well. There are a number of "one pixel" sensors that you can use with these implementations -- several have been (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)
