Re: Terrified of the Free Market, LEGO Begs for Protectionism

(...) Love the headline. Bonus points for me knowing who wrote it before seeing your name ;) For what it's worth I'm on your side. I won't buy MB but a) they have a legal right to do what they do and b) they've made LEGO lift its came by existing. (...) (13 years ago, 8-Feb-12, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

Re: Terrified of the Free Market, LEGO Begs for Protectionism

(...) Like I said, YMMV. LEGO has--at every turn--attempted to stifle competition and prevent fair access to the marketplace. In this particular case, they sought the endorsement of their anti-competitive practices by nothing less than the US (...) (13 years ago, 8-Feb-12, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

  Re: LMC - floor plan

(...) Modern UV protective treatments on windows should reduce that problem significantly either built-into new windows or in after-market applications. (13 years ago, 8-Feb-12, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Terrified of the Free Market, LEGO Begs for Protectionism

I was commenting on the hyperbolic headline to this thread which included the inaccurate accusation that LEGO is "Terrified of the Free Market". I did not express any opinion on MB products or practices since such are not relevant to the discussion (...) (13 years ago, 8-Feb-12, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

  Re: LMC - floor plan

(...) At our Halloween events last year, we discovered that trans-neon green (anti-freeze color) bricks glow wickedly under black lights! Trés cool effect! Just another thing to make you go, "hmmmmm". (URL) JOHN (13 years ago, 8-Feb-12, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: LMC - floor plan

(...) Black lights in the LMC, hmmmmm! ;-D (13 years ago, 7-Feb-12, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: LMC - floor plan

(...) Steve- Watch out for that natural light - I have found that UV light is a huge contributor to yellowing of the brick. Maybe it isn't such a problem in newer brick, but I got quick yellowing of Lego with UV light from the barn layout when I was (...) (13 years ago, 7-Feb-12, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Terrified of the Free Market, LEGO Begs for Protectionism

(...) Well, suffice it to say that YMMV. (...) Sauce for the goose. Mega Brands is likewise "following the rules of the game," insofar as it is manufacturing a legally permissable product in the competitive marketplace, yet it is routinely (...) (13 years ago, 7-Feb-12, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

  LMC – Electrical / Lighting

LMC (LEGO Man Cave) update – Electrical / Lighting All Photos at BrickShelf (when approved) - (URL) (via old school communications!) Bruce Chamberlin brought up that I should have at least one power outlet per wall and proper lighting. I totally (...) (13 years ago, 7-Feb-12, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LMC – Framing Build Rm Wall

(...) Dude, you are going to town! It's fun to see the progress. Keep up the good work! JOHN (13 years ago, 7-Feb-12, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: LMC - Inspirations

(...) Hi Tim, Thanks for the names and links! It is vital that the appropriate people get credit! And Thanks to all the guys out there building layouts and pushing this hobby forward! I'll be shamelessly stealing as many ideas as I can! SteveB (13 years ago, 7-Feb-12, to lugnet.trains)

LMC – Framing Build Rm Wall

LMC (LEGO Man Cave) update – Framing Build Room Wall All Photos at BrickShelf (when approved) - (URL) (via old school communications!) Hi All, Last night was very productive. I designed, purchased materials, and built the inner most 2x4 wall that (...) (13 years ago, 7-Feb-12, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: LEGO World 2012

(...) According to most definitions I think even the airport is in Copenhagen itself. The location of LEGO World even more so. I just assumed "city" = "historic city centre". Play well, Jacob (13 years ago, 7-Feb-12, to lugnet.events.legoworld)

  Re: Legionaries Ready!

(...) Nice work. Play well, Jacob (13 years ago, 7-Feb-12, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: LEGO World 2012

(...) Tak så meget, Jacob. Very valuable information in deed. I had the impression that Lego World takes place in Copenhagen itself, not outside. But then OTOH, I haven't at all planned the details of my visit in Denmark yet, or even had a look on a (...) (13 years ago, 7-Feb-12, to lugnet.events.legoworld)

  Re: LEGO World 2012

(...) ~15 minutes. (Plus up to 4 minutes waiting for the next metro.) Bella Center where Lego World takes place is closer; first you take the regional train from Kastrup to Ørestad, and then you take the metro one stop towards city. Play well, Jacob (13 years ago, 6-Feb-12, to lugnet.events.legoworld)

  Re: LMC - Inspirations

(...) Hi Steve, 1 and 7 are me (with Mike Pianta for 7, gambort and scruffulous on flickr), 5 and 6 are Dave Stannard (brickhead on flickr), 9 is Tony Sava (SavaTheAggie on flickr). As for further inspiration... I'll blow Mike and my trumpet for (...) (13 years ago, 6-Feb-12, to lugnet.trains)

Black Rare Classic Windows... by the dozens...

Well they're real LEGO windows/doors, but not real black classic ones... but check out the image(s)... A few years ago I committed LEGO blasphemy.... I painted LEGO... (GASP!) Actually with a classic window collection numbering over 5,000, there (...) (13 years ago, 6-Feb-12, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
