Sauce for the goose. Mega Brands is likewise “following the rules of the game,” insofar as it is manufacturing a legally permissable product in the competitive marketplace, yet it is routinely castigated for doing so.

If LEGO is allowed to use “whatever legal maneuvers they can to give them a business advantage,” then surely there is no rational basis for objecting when Mega Brands does the same.

You--or others--may not care for the product, but that’s irrelevant to the matter at hand. Namely, that LEGO attempted to get US Customs to act as its agent in order to give itself an unfair market advantage.

Thankfully, the US had better things to do with its time than prop up bogus claims of trademark violation.

I was commenting on the hyperbolic headline to this thread which included the inaccurate accusation that LEGO is "Terrified of the Free Market". I did not express any opinion on MB products or practices since such are not relevant to the discussion (...) (13 years ago, 8-Feb-12, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)
