I've seen a ROBOLAB video where someone had made a bot which could climb glass doors with suction cups and pneumatics, and Fudd has got his stair climber... but has anyone made a robot that can climb a pole of some sort? i.e. straight up? I have (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

I really liked Ramblin' Robots by Ingrid Wickelgren. I learned some general things about robots - even though the book was written for teenagers. A book aimed at younger kids is Robotics by T. Plus, the three "eye probe thingers" didn't look right, and its pose sometimes made it difficult to distinguish it from a piece of Star Trek furniture. This new one has a (...) Yes, indeed, John is (as evah) right. Let me weigh in here as well... Putting meaning in keys is a sign of not very well seasoned designers, IMHO. I believe what we have got here is two solutions. 1) replace the Lego hardware with better microswitches 2) Make a multiplexor capable to work well with the Lego touch sensors Either one will work. I think I would rather make the multiplexor than (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)
