Re: Pics of Dutch railways models

Eric, Once again, very nice. I was looking at the directions for making the Hondekop train to figure out how you made the "doors", but the directions do not reveal how you made the door look like two slinding doors. How did you split the window ? Is (...) (25 years ago, 13-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

(...) Frank I have to agree with most of what you've said there... the Train groups really do give TLG a lot of exposure.. and I'm sure will kindle or even rekindle a fondness in people... THOUGH...   Re: when they say "fresh" batteries, they mean it!

(...) Actually it is common practice these days to power small peripherals off of the supply voltage pins on RS-232 ports as long as you're not trying to pull tooooo much juice. And even a device with a 9-volt power supply can produce higher (...) (25 years ago, 13-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

I just skimmed this whole thread while waiting for a compile.   MKOC - A new kind of building

I've been part of this group for a few years now and I would like to say what a pleasure it has been discussing LEGO stuff with all of the knowledgable and friendly folks here. A special thanks should go out to Todd since he has really created an (...) (25 years ago, 13-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: New version of BlockCAD released - 1.8

I finally checked this out, and I like it. It's a much faster way to get the studs-up parts of your LDraw project started. I'm also going to test this out on my kids, who don't have quite enough patience to use LEdit. A couple of comments: 1. The (...) (25 years ago, 13-Aug-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: do red minifig heads exist?

(...) In fact, I did exactly this very recently. I purchased the V-Wing fighter, and used a Swiss Army Knife blade to scrape off the paint on the face.   Re: when they say "fresh" batteries, they mean it!

From: John R. Galloway, Jr. <jrg@dbengines.com> (...) I believe RS232 is in the 9v range (or maybe even 12v), so they are probably fighting that spec there. They could use a voltage up-convertor, but at a loss of efficiency. Two 9vs might have made (...) (25 years ago, 13-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Thanks for your praise guys! Don'tcha love it when all the right parts fall together?
