I've been part of this group for a few years now and I would like
to say what a pleasure it has been discussing LEGO stuff with all of
the knowledgable and friendly folks here.

A special thanks should go out to Todd since he has really created an
environment where ideas can flow well, and we have the ability to
filter out the noise by subscribing to specific groups.

One thing that might be missing is some emphasis on kids MOCS, which
for lack of a better term I will call an MKOC - My Kid's Own Creation.

I KNOW lots of us have kids but we rarely post their creations, and to
have them look at some of the more impressive modeller's sfforts
can be downright discouraging. Heck, I'm sure even guys like Larry
are discouraged when Erik posts things like his Dutch Railway Scene.

So, how about posting some of our kids efforts on our websites so that
our kids can get involved too? I'll start off by doing up some things
this weekend, and then we'll see what happens. Remember, kids DON'T
care if the scene is perfectly rendered like Fredrik's cool vehicles.
All they want is the general IDEA of the design.

Ideas, suggestions, and comments are always welcome....

Cheers,

Ralph Hempel - P.Eng

(...) Well, I'm rather proud of my 2 year-old's creation. Are there any DUPLO parts for use in LDraw? Thanks, Will (25 years ago, 14-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Hardly. Inspired, resolved to try to make more time to build, enraptured at the detail, yes. Discouraged, no. I know I can produce at that quality level. (1) I just don't have the time and space right now. (2) But your idea on MKOC is awesome. (...) (25 years ago, 14-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)
