Re: New Shell Promotional Sets Online

(...) What I couldn't find in the article was a list of countries where the promotion would be happening. Anyone have any ideas? Where were they last year? I am disappointed by the news that they will not be offered in the States. I had previously (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New groups list

(...) IMHO, you should scan the Silver brick (or one of those employee-only gold bricks mentioned in another thread). Paul Sinasohn who wants a 6000-dpi scanner too! (What brand and model is it, John?) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed.

(...) Yeah, I could see me now. Going to Billund with some pick axes and air hammers and dismantling part of the company headquarters complex looking for the classic window & door molds. (They dispose of their old molds by incorporating them into (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed.

(...) Gary, you've got a bigger problem than picking & loading -- you'll have to go into the manufacturing plant, find the molds, and cast your own classic windows. Then you can count and load. Steve (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  New primitive: Pneumatic nozzle?

I'm currenly working on the Technic Pneumatic Airtank (view the progress at <URL:(URL), if you want to) and I just realized that there is one element which is common in all pneumatic parts: The "tap"/"nozzle" thingey to which you connect the rubber (...)   Re: UK Legofest report

Just got back home from my trip a couple of days ago, so I will add my 2c worth even if it is rather after the fact! The Scottish Legofest was a great way to start my holiday - I hardly felt jetlagged at all the whole afternoon (until I just missed (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Mos Espa Podrace Question

(...) You could break it up into the tree pods - I believe there are three smaller boxes inside the big one, so it's already sorted that way. If you sell it all together as one set, you're very unlikely to do any better than breaking even. But break (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.starwars)

WANTED: instructions for 6602 Fire Unit I

I am looking for instructions for set 6602 Fire Unit I. They are not available on kl.net. I am looking for either an original copy or a scanned version. Russell (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed.

(...) Wasn't there a time when some architects used Lego bricks for models? What other bulk buyers would have ever existed? I think that hyping the User Group route for bulk orders is the best way to approach TLG - it is a small number of (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Eight-wide trains (was Re: Please help keep LUGNET clean

(...) Huh? The "-ohn" reference? Do you have a "Gallery" of eight wide creations? Chris (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: The History of LEGO Plates - Part 1.

(...) Hey Mark, you are correct!! Set 725 - Town Plan (the later 1962-64 version) had over 100 clear bricks, in brick sizes 1x1, 1x2, 1x6, 1x8, 2x2, 2x3, 2x4 and 2x2 quarter circle (macaroni). No clear plates or slopes in this set. Keep those clear (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Pirates 6255 - early 90's

(...) I have been trying to email you about a possible trade and your email doesn't work. Let me know what the correct one is. Sincerely, Tim (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: Question about McDonalds

(...) Considering that Disney has licensed TLG to use the Pooh characters, this is NOT as far-fetched as you might think, John. When I was getting my MBA back in the 80's, one of our M&A case studies was to "deal with" Disney, which was in a slump (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Shell Promotional Sets - Autumn 1999

It is intersting to note that Shell and TLG have had a promotional "relationship" since 1966, when Shell superceded Esso as the "gas station of choice" for Lego Town system. That year set #325 (one of my all time favorite sets!) Shell Station came (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: How to tell Cellulose Acetate from ABS

Hey John! Those 4x8 curved plates came in a left curve and a right curve piece. They came in Service Packs #227. In Europe both the left and right curved piece came in one set (2 of each with an extra 2x8 white plate). In the USA/Canada Samsonite (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Super Car (8448)

(...) I'm not sure what you mean by the above. I thought I was posting to a UK based news group and certainly didn't go into much detail about the set. What do you mean by .general? Stephen. (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: LDlite 1.6 problems

Because I'm evaluating where to invest my available time. As an investment in open source, LDLite has paid off OK. It's generated some "interest": others have contributed to the code, we've seen remarkable speed increases, and a few other programs (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed.

OK it looks like Mark let the other shoe drop...... Yeah I knew about both New Zealand and Australia, but I saw no good in telling everyone. I kept the rage bottled up inside. Hey Mark, tell them the story about the bulldozer and the old Lego parts. (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)
