Re: New Presentation of an old MOC

(...) Looks great! I'm not a big fan of the poster-edge ones though...too obviously a Photoshop filter. I've found the magnetic lasso tool to be helpful in cutting out a MOC from the background. Just move slowly around the outside edge, placing (...) (21 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.publish.photography, FTX)

  Re: new models 2005 (crane)

(...) Me either but my guess is there's a knob on the back. (...) Well it appears the chain is only to extend the innermost section, from other pics I think the first section is extended using gear & racks like 8460. (...) Yeah, interesting the (...) (21 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Restart of LDA Project (using LDraw models - L3P - POV)

(...) I already am. :) I noticed that L3P already marks the beginning of these blocks: // Camera (Latitude,Longitude,Radius = 45,45,0) and // Lights: Now, I've asked Lars to let L3P also mark the ends of these blocks.   Re: What does MLCad check to determine if the "Original LDraw Package" is installed?

(...) I think the only required file is STUD.DAT in the P directory. (21 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Technic plates

As I might have noticed, the Lego technic holes are exactly 4.8mm. This technique is also good to create "technic bricks" - very usable when you need a more stabilized axle-guide. Just drill a standar 2X* brick through the cilinders from the bottom, (...) (21 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: new models 2005 (crane)

(...) OooOoOoOoOOO!!!! Did you see the forklift, the excavator and the motorcycle alongside the crane???? I wants them all! :D nice to see that lego has not forgotten the studded beams. and to see that lego is starting to use long-unused parts (...) (21 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: MOC: Taun-Taun

(...) Nice Bruce! I especially like the size relation to the minifigs and the use of the horse saddle. Matt (21 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.starwars, FTX)

  new models 2005 (crane)

Hey guys- I was just browsing Brickshelf ((URL) when I noticed how they set up the crane. 1) Yes it has steering (though which knob you turn i DON'T KNOW) 2) The extending mechanism for the boom, it's done by a chain (I didn't know this. My idea for (...) (21 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technic plates

(...) This sounds like a good idea. What size drill bit did you end up using? (21 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Just adding a little inspiration

(...) Hmmm actually just looking at it, I think you could probably do a half decent minifig scale ringer with them. And gee lookee there, I have 1 spare.... ROSCO (21 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Restart of LDA2001 Project (using LDraw models - L3P - POV)

  Re: Vikings?

(...) Glad we're not alone in the "silly" POV on the new knights. My 9 year old was not thrilled with the purple and light blue knights - those aren't knight colors...... He's quite thrilled with the Vikings (horns and all) - he's already got two (...) (21 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Technic plates

I was just putting together the classroom packs I use for teaching robotics. Each two student team is given a tray of "standard" parts to work with.
