Aside from using the Rock Raiders drill piece (or several?), you might be able to make a conical helix out of a chain of a construction such as this: (URL) (colors for clarity - heaven forbid you use such bright colors in a .space MOC!) (...) Right, 3 layers but only 2 radii since you use the 2x1x5x4 in both the smaller layers. That's what I thought but I wasn't quite sure from that vantage point.
