Re: Rock Raiders --Wider is not better.

I actually did pick up the smallest sets as well and I'd agree. The 4910 is a standard little set. I think it is because they couldn't fit any Jr. into a set that small. But with the strange shaped base and the roof pieces, it is the most non-blocky (...) (26 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: To Sell or To Auction

(...) I think most people base it on how much time they want to invest, vs. the return they want to achieve. Straight sales are quick, but if you don't know how much the items are worth, you will either quickly sell everything too cheaply, or not (...) (26 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: New Product and Promotional Timing

(...) Could be. (...) The general answer is: work out a deal with someone in a country where Larry P. can be your factor. The specific answer is: most (all?) of the 1999 Euro train sets will be available from S@H. (...) I can understand that. (...) (...) (26 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: size of Lego MF revisited

(...) Thanks for the info! I did a quick check of my B-Wing, and guess what? It is about 45 studs long, fitting the scale! It is 4 meters longer than an X-Wing, which comes to about 11 studs. When I built it, I wasn't even trying to scale it (...) (26 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  RE: Lego "pegging" disks

(...) Do people _really_ want to discuss / look at pictures of these rather old bits? I could scan and post some pictures out of the 1973 and 1975 (or thereabouts) catalogues if that would jog memories? Stuart -- Did you check the web site first?: (...)   Re: do these parts exist in these colors?

(...) Yup (...) Nope (...) You mean the canopy in 6894 Invader? If so, Yes. (...) I don't believe so. (...) Deep Freeze Defender, and no, that piece has only been made in black and white. (...) If you mean the pieces that come in SPII, then yes. (...) (26 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.general)

  RE: Lego "pegging" disks

Ah yes, I still have quite a few of these pieces, especially the wheels with metal axles and the bricks that accept them. The belt Mario mentioned is great and can be used to turn rotation into linear motion, but it works with the old gears only and (...) (26 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Scaling within LDAO HTMLGen tool

I wanted to create HTML instructions for a big model using HTML Tool from LDAO. Problem: model does not fits onto display screen and it's steps' images are cut-off along display borders. I tried use -S0.5 parameter for LDraw - works fine but only (...) (26 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Making accurate Y-Wing engines

(...) What do you mean "odd tile edges"? You shouldn't need to use tiles at all. To make a stable cylinder with macaroni bricks, you have to rotate each layer by 45 degrees. Do this with two layers and it should work fine. Of course, to get 16 gray (...) (26 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)

(...) I think this is a very good idea. If one sorts all the parts in various bins, one quickly ends up with lots of boxes which are needed to make anything at all. And it is quite counter-productive to need to bring out five large 8880 boxes (hi, (...) (26 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

What kind of wheels are used on this bike?

This image is from Tom Stangl's Legoland image repository: (URL) beautifully designed bike has some rather odd wheels. What kind of LEGO wheels are that? The hubs look like green medium pulleys. But while the design is indeed very nice, I fear that (...) (26 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Space Craters Baseplate?
