MichLUG and WMLTC are pleased to announce the formation of a new Lego club.
WMLTC is a chapter of MichLUG and will share resources and members. We formed
the chapter to better serve the needs of club members on this side of the state.
It is our hope that with local meetings and events we can encourage more AFOLs
to participate.
We are actively looking for other adults passionate about the lego hobby who
want to share creations with like minded enthusiasts. We currently expect that
our show schedule will be more subdued that MichLUG’s hectic pace of 20+ events
a year. Perhaps aiming instead for 4 shows and 4 meetings a year

Greetings to my fellow Michigan AFOLs!
The third annual Brick Bash will be held on Saturday, March 24, in Ann Arbor.
Brick Bash is a public LEGO exhibition for all ages, where we present many
different LEGO creations and hands-on experiences for the public to see and
experience. Last year we had thirteen exhibitors and 700 visitors. An
additional feature of Brick Bash is education, and to that end we also include
some hands-on learning experiences, such as free robotics lessons provided by
one of our Gold Sponsors, Rocks and Robots summer camp.
All AFOLs are invited to come show off their LEGO creations and have some fun
for a day. Admission is free, for both exhibitors and visitors. This invitation
is for individuals as well as the whole LUG.

I certianly appreciate your interest. The thing is, I think I'm running out of
space. That's the only thing I'm sweating about Brick Bash. For a change, I'm
actually on schedule as far as planning, but the capacity issue is possible
going to bite me.
So, while I'll say "go ahead and show up" I also need to say that you might be
squiched in with everyone else and you might not be able to show evrything you
bring. The idea of demonstrating MLCad is a good one. I'll have a VGA projector
and a microphone (and hopefully a wireless mic), so if you want to do that kind
of demo it would be great.
Next year I'm going to have to find some place much bigger. I was very surprised
by the response I got from AFOLs this year compared to last year.
So what do you think? Let me know if you still want to come.

Bump -- Brick Bash is just a month away (Feb is a short month don’t cha know!)

Description: Get feedback on creations, check out creations by others,
and talk about upcoming shows. Guests are always welcome, if you are
interested in joining MichLUG or just want to hang out and talk about
LEGO. (This month's club business meeting will include the nomination
of new officers. The business meeting will begin between 1 and 2 and
probably last about an hour.)

Directions: Get off of 27/69 at EXIT 85, go North on DeWitt Rd to
Herbison. Turn LEFT (at the horse barn), so you are going WEST on
Herbison Rd. Turn LEFT at the drive where the sign (DeWitt Christian
Church) is at. You should pass 3 buildings on the Left before the
church. The church is set off the road, about 200 feet.

MICHLUG 5 yr Anniversary Meeting
Description: Get feedback on creations, check out creations by others, and
talk about upcoming shows. Guests / potential members are welcome. Send an email

directions/address. To celebrate 5 years of being a club, we will be grilling
burgers and having cake. (Non-member attendees are encouraged to RSVP to help
with food planning.) Also Spencer Rezkella host a “Featured MOC” presentation.
He will discuss his model and some of it’s history, design, inspiration, etc
with the rest of the group.
Date/Time: Saturday, October 22nd, 2005 from 1pm till 7pm

Note that as with last year, the local kids had a chance to enter into a
building contest... the contest subfolder shows their work. Turnout was not as
good as last year, perhaps since last year was in April, and this year, in
September, the start of the school year meant kids minds were on other things.

MichLUG has been invited back to display at the Curious Kids Museum in St.
Joseph , MI. This will be our third year with them. We will have a 15'x15'
town/train layout and a Space display.
Dates:
Saturday, September 24th 10am-4pm
Sunday, September 25th 12pm-4pm
Admission: $4.00 per person (This is admission to the museum, there is no
additional cost to enter the contest or see the layout.)

Announcing Buzz, the wily mascot from Georgia Tech:
I made this for my wife’s 30th birthday last February. I guess I hadn’t gotten
around to uploading the pictures. Anyway, this creation was made with the help
of Bricksaic.
