Man that was a long time ago! Ok, maybe only last summer but I still don't
remember the deatails.

If I remember right:

I had found this little thingy from AIM(AOL Instant Messenger) that allows
you to link to a AIM chatroom on a website. You had to put in a name that
wasn't allready taken. So I asked the people in teh room for a few names,
and someone said BrickLUG. No one had a better idea that wasn't taken, so
that is what we decided on. There are about 10-15 people that are
frequenters and many infrequent vistors, so changing the name would take
alot of communication. Many people have made shortcuts to the room on their
computers that would have to be changed. I could easily change the links and
stuff on the page and new visitors would never even know, but old visitors
who hadn't heard about the change would think it dissappeared.

PS: It's just a little LEGO-themed chat room, the name really has nothing to
do with anything except it's what is used by AIM to reference the room.

First BrickLUG Chat... or Brick LEGO Users Group Chat:

To me the name itself doesn't make sense when you string it out.  It seems
redundant "Brick LEGO".  Why not just call it Brick Chat if it is just a place
for real time chats?  Or if it is a place for LEGO User Groups to Chat in real
time why not just call it LUG Chat?

Again I have nothing wrong with having a real time chat.  I am just wondering
about the name.

There is a simple answer to this.  Kyle wanted to make the room permanent, and
I believe the first couple names he tried were being used.  "BrickLUG" was the
first that was available.  :)

This is all from memory, so I could be waaaay out there....
