Re: What is the deal with 1x1 Blue Plates? —Gary Istok
(...) Yes those are hard to come by. And Mike is right, those 1x1 blue tiles are very scarce. I didn't think I had any until I found 12 in an old box. That got me to thinking about what pieces are rare. Yes there are rare slopes and arches such as (...) (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) And I am the one that should lighten up? =) But seriously, let's see this list, Gary. Do you have a text online with some or all of these comments you make from time to time? I'd certainly like to read it... -- Richard (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) Richard, you can find some of what I've written on the lugnet.general page near the bottom under "Links & Resources" - and click on "Gary Istok's History of LEGO Series".          Re: What is the deal with 1x1 Blue Plates? —Tom Stangl
They only came in 6590, I believe, one on top of the camper. I own about 5-6 now ;-) BTW, 1x1 blue tiles aren't THAT hard to come by - I must have dozens (I need to sort them out of all of my bulk, though, and they AREN'T for sale). StarHawk II had (...)        (...) <snip> Tom, that would be like me saying "blue regular slope outside corners aren't that hard to come by, I must have 150." :-) It all depends on what sets you bought in quantity in the past! Gary Istok (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: What is the deal with 1x1 Blue Plates? —Ronald Vallenduuk
Seen that Chevvy on the cover of the Ultimate LEGO book? It's got 1x4 clear tiles on top of the windscreen. I'd love a few of those, but I guess they're LEGO modelmaker only... Duq "James Simpson" <jsimpson@rice.edu> wrote in message (...) (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

It makes you think... Think about the possibilities for the LEGO modelmakers! I bet they can have as much of a piece they want, in any color they wish! (2*4 trans-red bricks... *drool*) --tobias (...) (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: What is the deal with 1x1 Blue Plates? —Selçuk Göre
(...) The only set that have a clear tile (2x2) is one of the camper van sets, most probably 6590. The other, older camper van set 6694 has 2x2 clear plates which is also rare I think, at least not in any 1980+ sets. Selçuk (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) I have one 2x2 clear plate from Ambulance 6680, which I'm pretty sure came out in the time frame of 1980 - 1982. (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) Right. Notice that Selcuk said that 6694 has a 2x2 clear plate, and that it is rare in 1980's sets, and I responded that the 6680 1980's era set also has a clear plate. I understand that there is only one set with a clear tile. James (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)
