I’ve always been a fan of space, but I never really managed to get down to doing anything in the theme as of late as it was too abstract for me (Although I did a lot of stuff as a kid, my memory and definition of what spaceyness was got wiped out the day I saw Dan’s A-wing carrier, and the other ships he’s built ;-) ). So after a few words of wisdom from Felix Greco and others at JLUG, with a little taunting by Adrian Drake thrown in for good measure, I present my first publicly-displayed Space MOC:

I hope these work later!

I was largely inspired by these two machines:

Comments, smack, acronyms, ascii art, more taunting and critique welcome. A word about the critique though: Please try to be as clear as possible. If you’re going to tell me so-and-so ‘doesn’t look right’ or something ultra-vague like that (and I’ve noticed a lot of spacers do that), it’s not doing any good since I’m a pretty straightforward guy and I don’t get your spacer abstractness. (Yes, your spacer abstractness, because just one model doesn’t really count as my being a spacer, and I can say it’s more of a train model anyway.)

Enjoy,

Legoswami

PS: Expect an MOCPage in about 12 hours from now since I’m going to bed. And yes, I know my pieces need cleaning.

Really stupid replying to my own post, but BS seems to be giving an error for the gallery URL. Here it is: (URL) trying to get the hang of this FTX thing......) (19 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.trains)

Hey Samarth! This is one nice model! I especially like the multitude of details, also the mechanized tools. I was thinking, maybe you can "un-bastardize" it and convert it to a good old train. ;o) (...) You bet ;o) But for a space MOC it actually (...) (...) Glad to have inspired another .space MOC in whatever way I can :) This is rather a neat looking contraption. Though I question the necessity of a track cleaner/fixer in world where hover-vehicles are apparently possible. But bringing logic to (...) Quite sweet, this. Personally, I would say this belongs in both space and trains, as it has a bit of both. Great detail, great moc. I'm jealous of your amount of replies, my posts never get any. :) Congrats on the first "spaceish" model. -Josh (19 years ago, 11-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.trains, FTX)
