Unless 2002 shows some sign of turnaround in the LEGO world, I'm afraid
LEGO will lose a fan/customer in all areas except for
technic/mindstorms. Being a town fan, if I can't mix new LEGO with the
past 20 years worth of my collection then how am I to continue. Someone
mentioned that a competitor has released figs almost exactly like the
REAL lego minifigs though right? Heck I'm thinking I'll just have to
get over my need to buy exclusively from LEGO and go to the competitor.
The truth is I'm starting to think the competitor has better stuff
anyhow! Like most others, I simply have to ask: WHY???? WHY WHY WHY
WHY WHY WHY WHY????????????? Does LEGO not give a hoot about the
ability to mix last years Christmas gift with this years of supposedly
the same toy?
This is a great evil, LEGO.
This is seriously very close to "the last straw" for me, if not actually
it.
And my my my they are UGLY!...not at all like the cute smiley-faced
minifigs we all love.

| (...) Creator is 100% compatible with System -- the _only_ major new element is the fig. It's not classic Town, but I'd rather see a real building product line aimed at 3-6 year olds than the current POOPy rubbish. (...) Megabloks figs? They're only (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-01, to lugnet.year.2001)

| Well after the Basic line and Jack Stone, it seems that Creator figs have invaded the new 2001 Dacta line as well. I just checked out the Dacta section of the official Lego website. It seems there are three new sets available: 9302 Creator Community (...) (23 years ago, 3-Feb-01, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.general)
