Re: TLC's WW Matter (was Re: Death of lugnet.western?)

(...) Huh? The Town uber-theme has been one of the longest running themes in LEGO history, and most of it is oriented around "ordinary life". Well, if you count emergency services as being "ordinary". Town outlasted even the traditional Space and (...) (22 years ago, 18-May-03, to lugnet.western)

Re: Got MOCs? ( wasTLC's WW & Etc. Matter)

(...) Hey, thanks very much! Well, I just want to say that I am working on a white schoolhouse. It'll probably be finished tomorrow. The pity is, I don't have anymore beige plates. So, I have to use regular green baseplates. Since this will be part (...) (22 years ago, 18-May-03, to lugnet.western, lugnet.build)

Re: TLC's WW Matter (was Re: Death of lugnet.western?)

(...) Or, as TLC would probably refer to it, "the formula that is profitable." Actually, for a company as large as LEGO is, I'm surprised that they diversify into less profitable areas as much as they do (Legends, USC, Bulk, Mosaics). (...) <snip> (...) (...) I think that kids really like trap doors, catapults, and secret passages. <snip> (...) Even though I do not like Town Jr. I think that it is very useful as a link between "Duplo" and LEGO Bricks. Of course many older afols went straight to (...)   Re: TLC's WW & Etc. Matter

(...) Yes, I know that. Though some sets are too darn simple (e.g. Town Jr. Bank #6566 and 5850 Royal Crystal Palace....AAAIIIEEE!), they make pretty good facades (take set 7418: Scorpion Palace) and contraptions like trapdoors, yes, ESPECIALLY (...)   Re: TLC's WW Matter (was Re: Death of lugnet.western?)

(...) I would also like more "ordinary life" sets. But you have to look at the history of the company. They know what works. What I find amazing about TLC is how little things have changed in the last 25 years. For example new "NASA" sets are coming (...) (22 years ago, 16-May-03, to lugnet.western)

TLC's WW Matter (was Re: Death of lugnet.western?)

Hello again Ben, Yes.....those are good reasons. And another thing, TLC has a pretty (how should I say?) obvious problem when it comes to "ordinary life" in most themes. Town has most of the "ordinary life" (or at least the old kits) but many types (...) (22 years ago, 16-May-03, to lugnet.western)

  Death of lugnet.western?

In lugnet.western, Dean R. Hennen writes: snipped (...) I look forward to seeing your new town changes. I like your farm as well. (...) Several factors may have led to the "death" of lugnet.western. First, TLC is no longer producing new western sets (...) (22 years ago, 16-May-03, to lugnet.western)

Re: A Part of a Western Town

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT WHY I PUT THE NEWSGROUPS LIKE THIS: Since hardly anyone views the WW board anymore, I decided to put it in a more "populated" area.   Re: A Part of a Western Town

Hi Dean, I just saw your post in western (I guess lugneters dont visit this group much). Your town is has several nice details. I like the shelves in the store, the piano in the saloon, and the outhouse. My only constructive criticism would be to (...) (22 years ago, 15-May-03, to lugnet.western)

Instruction Tutorial - Dry Goods Store

I have created a new town building, a Dry Goods Store. I am using this MOC as an example of my process to make high quality building instructions.
