Re: NGLTC wins over local NMRA assocation!

(...) I am sorry, new to posting. I helped at the show and we did have a great turn out. Kids & Adluts giving us great comments. And it was great to meet so many LEGO people that really like what you can do with the product. (...) (27 years ago, 16-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains)

Re: NGLTC wins over local NMRA assocation!

(...) NMRA (...) Ha! That would defiantly be a switch for sure. To get into the show I told them we'd fit into any space they gave us. They ended up giving me an area 6' x 20', so we ran a real long and narrow layout. At least for the next show (...) (27 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains)

Re: NGLTC wins over local NMRA assocation!

(...) Or tell them that you won't be back because the NGLTC has "outgrown" the NMRA show... <grin> JohnG, GMLTC (27 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains)

(...) Wow - how can I reply to a comment like that? Superlatives fail me... Kudos! Fantastic! Great! Well Done! Congratulations! Bravo! Excellent! And next time, you'll probably do even better!! JohnG, GMLTC (27 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains)

Kevin Loch wrote in message ... (...) He did say it in a kind of kidding but more of a "smart ass" way. Also kept asking me if I had to wind them up before they'd run... ha!   Re: NGLTC wins over local NMRA assocation!

Thta is so great. I can just see the NMRA guy that gave you a hard time approaching you with head hanging quietly saying, "Well, that was good...I guess we have to give you a bigger space because no one could get past the crowds caused by your (...) (...) That's a surprisingly in-your-face approach. I could understand saying that before on the phone but not *while* you are busy setting up. depending on how it was said (joking or serious) I might have given them some attitude right back (or at (...)   NGLTC wins over local NMRA assocation!

Well we survived the Piedmont Division's (local NMRA chapter) show this weekend, and pasted their test with flying colors. A few months back I had to practically beg them to let us display at the show and at the last minute they asked me to bring a (...) (27 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains)

Re: I think they're getting the message

(...) While that's good for us no matter what it means, I suspect that they like the way it occupies the kids freeing the adults to check out the "real stuff". Of course the reality is that we had more adults than childeren check out our display :) (...) (27 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: I think they're getting the message

(...) That is an excellent quote! It shows how much respect all the LTCs around the world are starting to get from the 'old-school' model railroading community! When the GMLTC was at last year's NMRA 'National' show, we got nothing but good (...) (27 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains.org)

I think they're getting the message

While I was setting up at the local NMRA train show here in Atlanta today, I heard an interesting comment that I thought yall would enjoy.
