These are great, its nice to see someone else using decals.

Comments questions or constructive criticism?

I only have one question.  On the front of your cab you have your windows in
the middle 4 studs with the outside studs taken up with bricks.  Is there any
reason?

I guess its just personal preferance.  I really like the half stud offset
design that I took from the PNLTC.  They have 1/2 stud empty, 1x2 window, 1x1
brick, 1x2 window, 1/2 stud empty.  I really like that design.  I just think
your design makes your very excellent engine look a little "crosseyed".  If you
don't want to go with the 1/2 stud offset I think going with 3 windows across
the front or a Window, 1x2 brick, Window design might look good.

To see pics of the 1/2 stud offset either look around the PNLTC site or you can
check out this engine of mine where I use the technique.

I prefer the 3 windows across the front, the half stuff offset kind of looks
like something is missing. I did find that if you used 3 framed windows it
looked to crowded in the front. So I found that if you use two framed
windows and one clear 2x wall window it seems fit a bit cleaner.

Of course if you're lucky enought to posses some of the 1x windows you get a
real nice effect like John Warren did here:

Really great model though, can't wait to see it with the proper decals.

Same here, I'm liking decals more and more lately.

(...) Hmmm... We (NELUG) don't really have that problem. We actually get lots of comments from the other train guys when they come to check us out. Sure we lifted some eyebrows the first time we showed but we won most of them over pretty quickly. I (...) (23 years ago, 2-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains.org)
