  Re: Spyshot! TCLTC layout pic

(...) <snip> (...) Oh fine, be that way. Let me rephrase. John, whatever layout these do end up in I am sure they will look 'uber-fantastic'. :P -Jason (URL) (23 years ago, 29-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Spyshot! TCLTC layout pic

(...) This is TCLTC so it would be their *first* layout I think. (whoever "they" are... J2 hasn't said who else is working with him yet, but with the jamup in the GMLTC basement there's room for more clubs in the twin cities!) (23 years ago, 28-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Spyshot! TCLTC layout pic

(...) Agghhh, all that tan! Wow. That looks great, and it goes to show that with basic bricks a mountain/hill can look uber-fantastic. Looks like your guys' next layout is going to be awesome. -Jason (URL) (23 years ago, 28-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Spyshot! TCLTC layout pic

(...) Do you have a membership roster yet? Is this causing any friction with the GMLTC? Larger question, is it possible to be an "active member" of two groups at the same time? (I think it is, but am interested in the dynamics aspect). Note that (...) (23 years ago, 28-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Spyshot! TCLTC layout pic

Just a teaser pic of one of our "mini-modules". Due to area constraints in my house (where the basic layout will reside), I can only have 15" wide modules along the "back" of the layout. I will post a schematic of the floor plan as soon as I make (...) (23 years ago, 28-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: 2 More buildings from TCLTC layout

(...) I think these buildings are wonderful. (your other buildings as well) Have you thought about using a different color for the tops (crowns?) of the buildings? & other details? I wish the parts were available for you to do the top of the tan (...) (23 years ago, 28-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: 2 More buildings from TCLTC layout

(...) I love the buildings! You allways seem to have a great building to show off! Also I'm behind you on that brick red, I really need to get started on my hobby store & i want it to look like an old fire hall. I have so many idea for that color (...)   Re: 2 More buildings from TCLTC layout

I really did the red&white canopy. Those 1x6x31/2 arches are among my favorite pieces. 6 months ago I would have salivated at the use of so many, but I have a lot now as well, thanks to Brickbay (although my supply for new buildings is pretty low - (...)   2 More buildings from TCLTC layout

These will be the final 2 pics of buildings from the TCLTC layout that I will post for a while; the remaining few are still in various stages of construction. These two are actually set together as they will sit on the layout: (URL) the advent of (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains.org)

NALUG a hit at the Great Edmonton Train Show Sept 22-23, 2001

Our train layout this last weekend was a great success, and we again collected the 2nd place "people's choice" award. Our major goal this year was to have lots of automation, and I think we managed to acheive it. Highlights include: fully automated (...)   Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) Thanks, Brad, and of course, you are absolutely correct. I do plan on one day finishing the interior, but I was just too excited about building more buildings at the time and so just I forged on to newer things. Thing is, when you start a (...)   Re: New Building (light gray)

Looks nice. The see-through nature of the thin-walls make it seem a little too "empty" though. I know how you feel about exteriors coming before interiors, but you might want to try doing a little something, perhaps in the lobby, just to make it (...)   TCLTC website? (was: Re: New Building (light gray))

Ok, question, do you have a website up yet? I think it'd be cool to have that standards up on the net so that people could build modules & come & display with you. Say you went to display in town B... Well if someone lives there that isn't actully a (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) You might have a point, this time, but you got lucky. I'll stand behind my comments, you were way off topic and ought to know better. ++Lar (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) To Jason and Cary: It's actually pretty sturdy. The only real potential weak spot is where I have stacked the thin walls with the 1x2 dark gray plate in between them. If you will notice the row of plates onto which the grill tiles are (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)
