(...) ...snip... Mostly a way to distinguish between the difference in scale and thought between what's in a Lego mini-land display and a play theme display that they used for toy fairs and that you usually see in toys 'r' us type displays. In (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Two points... 1) a minor point of information: (...) Can you elaborate on what playtheme vs. miniland is? Thanks. 2) a major point of philosophy It was not my intent in working this thread a bit to - stir up intra GMLTC disharmony. (what we see is (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Pic: New Green Building

(...) A minor addition: If we make our buildings using a 'standard' footprint, it will allow us to mix & match them a little bit, so perhaps our town might get re-arranged between (or during!) shows. The way the town is currently "planned" (a word (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Pic: New Green Building

(...) WHAT?? Is this a case of history being written by the victors? You lobbied for MONTHS about switching to 8-wide... You brought over several train cars you had built 8-wide, you even brought some to shows, knowing they wouldn't fit on the old (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

(...) ..snipping.. (...) Actually I was surprised that I was as open as I was with the buildings you've done. Especially since we had told you ahead of time that they would be too big. I'm not sure I'll like John1's any better. I know I'd like your (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Pic: New Green Building

John Neal makes this same point in another post as well. The GMLTC layout is different from most others in that Conan has enough bricks to build the whole 16-module section with his own bricks. It's less like other layouts where people each bring (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Pic: New Green Building

(...) Hey Scott- Let me just jump in here and say that the GMLTC is unique in a few ways. First, since we are solid modules of bricks, everything must have an exact place, and usually that will not change for the life of the layout. The GFLTC and (...) Whoa, Gentleman may I make a freindly Observation, - Please, just 'cause I stumbled onto this thread. Well, you Train guys are a tight lot. Meaning, a great deal of thought goes into a given layout as a whole. Now that's not to say that others (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Pic: New Green Building

With all due respect to all parties involved, I don't understand what is going on here. In our club (GFLTC) we have created an environment that is malleable enough to accommodate anyone’s ideas and creations. This is not work, this is play. Play is (...) (...) Guilty. (...) No, I think you *did* try that once:-) (...) Not true. I did cave on the chateau.... (...) See? *You'll* get a variance cuz everyone likes you more than they like me! (...) Okay, I've had my fun online; I will behave now. -J-2 (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org)
