Re: Reply from Chris Di MasiRe: Hobby Train & 9V motor

(...) Paul, I don't think any of your posts have been too critical. Critically evaluating a set is great. Honestly, I feel badly that two of my designs that went out won't quite work with a motor. On the other hand, when I built my trolleycar the (...) (17 years ago, 6-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Reply from Chris Di MasiRe: Hobby Train & 9V motor

--snip-- Chris has asked me to post the following as he's having troubles posting to lugnet at the moment Paul and David, Yes, the models were tweaked after they were submitted by the LEGO fans.   Question about gearing Power Functions-based trains

I've noticed that because the Emerald Night's two sets of driver wheels are locked together, the engine struggles to go around corners: the outer wheels have further to turn, so the wheels slip and the engine's movement becomes jerky. Would it be (...) (15 years ago, 19-Jan-10, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Re: monorail maintenance?

(...) Firstly, how heavy is your train? You've got a battery-powered, gear-driven drive system that doesn't run very fast under the best conditions, so unless you strip it down to the bare essentials (one sled, one motor, one battery box, and just (...) You could always replace the 9v track over the chute with some older 12v rails then you wouldn't have the ties between them to stop the pieces, and since you're not needing to power the track at this point it shouldn't be a problem....of (...)   Technic Clock Tower Building with Electric Drive
