Re: A strange warning on the s@h about the kit K4519

(...) Can I suggest that the cross track kit be made like set 159 (blue rails), having a pack of straights included with the crossing? Perhaps, to cut the cost of the set, the number of straights would be 2, if that is the minimum necessary for use (...) (20 years ago, 4-Sep-04, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: 12v motor in 9v trains - how?

(...) Hi Mike, it took maybe 3 hours to convert the first motor. Then I did 2 at a time and needed less than 2 hours to convert 2 motors. An that included all works: making the connecting bushes, opening the housing, drill the needed holes etc. That (...) (21 years ago, 2-Apr-03, to lugnet.trains)

Mind the Gap! (URL) This is my 95ts train. It is the third of my LU creations but the first one to be functionally complete.   Ability of newer 9V motors

Since I'm new to Lego trains (bought my first Lego train set last week #4511 + an extra #10158 car), I'm wondering exactly how powerful the little motor that comes with the set is. It seems to have no problem moving the 3 cars that I currently own (...) (19 years ago, 25-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 10133 BNSF Mod using BBB wheels

(...) These look great. The technic disk are way to wide for a 6wide engine. I've done something similar for a GP9's fans. But I used regular plastic 9v era wheels. If you remove them from the metal axel, they have an almost stud on the back. The (...) (19 years ago, 1-Sep-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Exploring a new track radius

Quite a few of us in the community have wanted a new track radius for a very very long time. When we were in the 9v era the argument against it given was the metal rails would be too expensive. Now that we are in the RC era and the track is plastic (...) (11 years ago, 19-Jan-14, to lugnet.trains)

(...) There are a few inherent issues with "flex track". Tying it into the current system, safety since metal rails can be sharp, Transporting the segments exc.   Re: 10133 BNSF Mod using BBB wheels

(...) You'd have to use black axles with black wheels though, and the ideal axle length is 5L, which come mostly in grey now. I'd like unspoked small BBB wheels too (though I'll not hesitate to talk about them :-) ) I'd also like a smaller version, (...) (19 years ago, 1-Sep-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: So where is everyone at? What is the new LEGO Train Fan site

(...) Ooooooooh! I wonder if there could be enough market for a whole *series* of modular buildings in the train theme. The traditional model railroad companies have entire lineups of structures. Lego could too. I don't think you would want them (...) (11 years ago, 9-Jan-14, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Ted, I think you've read into this incorrectly. From my understanding, TLC's goal is to have TWO train lines - one for "adults", and one for "young kids" (to bridge the gap between DUPLO trains and 9V). TLC has (hopefully) learned from its (...)
