I wonder if there could be enough market for a whole *series* of modular
buildings in the train theme. The traditional model railroad companies
have entire lineups of structures. Lego could too. I don't think you
would want them fastening together in blocks like the modulars do - you
would want to space them out along the track. Some could come with a
train car appropriate for the structure.

Personally, I wouldn't want track to come with them, since most of the
folks in NALUG use 9V track (with old grey preferred of course). But, I
could see such sets coming with a turnout and a few track sections -
enough for the purchaser to add a useful siding to their layout. There
have been a couple like that, e.g. the train wash set.
