Re: The End of 9 Volt? (was: Re: Train motors half price via S@H weekly special)

(...) SNIP (...) SNIP (...) Okay, so there's no point in speculating but I will anyway since I've been interested in (and worried about) what this could mean since I first saw the coming of RC LEGO trains mentioned on the Eurobricks main page a (...) (19 years ago, 4-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains)

Jordan got it right, Thanks Jordan! :) Recently I was made aware of some of the internal structure of LEGO and this might offer some insights. In most big companies there are typically more then one product group. There are several in LEGO and there (...) (16 years ago, 10-Oct-08, to lugnet.trains)

  9v Motor Placement Help

I have a Super Chief that I've been taking to TexLUG meetings which currently has 2 locomotives (A's) and 7 cars. Each of the locos has a 9v motor each. I've been looking to aquire a third locomotive so I can make a B unit (to make an A-B-A config) (...) (18 years ago, 14-Mar-07, to lugnet.trains)

Hi people. Some of you may remember me from other sections of Lugnet, most will probably not. However, I have been building again for around the last 9 months solid (or as solid as my life allows!) with a twist for me,..... TRAINS... a VERY old (...) (16 years ago, 25-Jun-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: How to fit large scaled trains on L-gauge

(...) I like this idea and furthermore I like this track a lot better than the one piece design of the 9v/RC line. LEGO bring back the old 4.5/12v tracks! Surely they must be cheaper to produce! (16 years ago, 2-Jun-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

From what I've read regarding IR systems, it should be straight forward to to modify LEGO IR transmitters and receivers to work with small radio modules. Here are my 2c on the entire thread thus far, I'm still concerned that the 4 wide battery is too wide to conceal in the hood of a 6 wide mode of a typical American road switcher (i.e., just about every American locomotive built since 1968).
