Re: Harry Potter Creator box art

(...) My main point of interest is the front of the train - although this is all CGI, it does show a 9V buffer bar. Fingers crossed. Jason J Railton (23 years ago, 20-May-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.castle, lugnet.trains)

9v Track Needed for Brickfest Train Room

In order to create an awe-inspiring 9v layout, we're going to need some more 9v track. From local volunteers we have approximately 600+ pieces, but given the size of the room (about 60' x 60') we have room for plenty more. So, if you are able, (...)   Re: 9V Train track DAT files?

Let me just first clear up a slight misconception... I wasn't trying to say that either Chris OR James were doing anything wrong with theier use of unofficial track models or anything like that. I agree with Chris that the "wheel shiny" color is (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.trains)

Re: 9V Train track DAT files?

(...) I believe they are yellow because in older LEGO instructions and flyers, the electric contacts on things like plates and wires are shown in yellow. So the other electrical parts modeled in LDraw also use yellow. But IIRC it is a special yellow (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.trains)

(...) In lugnet.trains, Christopher Masi writes: (...) The color appears yellow in MLCad. Used L3P to convert to the POV-Ray format. When rendered in POV-Ray, the yellow "turns into" the shiny metal you see in the images of my APT at The BrickShelf. (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.trains)

  My Agonizing Decision

Hi all, I have just obtained a set 7722 MISB. I'm thinking of converting this little steam engine to 9V to pull my BricWorx 3-car passenger set. Or should I buy one of the new 'My Own Train' locomotive kits and utilize this to pull my train? How (...) (23 years ago, 26-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

It looks to me like the motor is in the tender (on the 7722), what I think I'll do is put the 9V motor in the tender and put either the red or black 4.5V/12V wheels on the engine. I think this would look better than the new engines being offered by (...) (23 years ago, 26-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

(...) cutting a 9V connector in half and putting 12V pins on one end? That seems a lot less work and also less invasive of a more expensive part. Still, you get points for elegance! Thanks for sharing. (23 years ago, 28-May-01, to lugnet.trains)
