  Re: locomotive referance sites?

Slightly related, a good reference site I found for UK locomotives is, (URL) is UK Southern Region. (18 years ago, 1-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 7-Wide BNSF & TTX Intermodal Train & Crane

(...) I used a "propeller 4 blade 5diameter" and a matching "tile 2x2 with Pin" on a 7 wide tender, to pivot the motor. As used in my Q1 (URL) I also came up with a design that used 1x3 technic lift arms, mounted horizontally but I can't find the (...) (18 years ago, 1-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: locomotive referance sites?

(...) This is a good site for side views of US locomotives at least. (URL) Although they don't have dimensions they are to scale so you should be able to work them out pretty easily. Tim (18 years ago, 1-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

  locomotive referance sites?

Hey guy's, I am looking into building a couple diesel engines to expand my collection and to update my existing models and I’m having a heck of a time finding reference drawings to work from. Basically I’m looking for drawings with rough dimensions (...) (18 years ago, 1-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

(...) i know the feeling i'm an 8-wide builder so allmost everything is useless to me. (...) i agree. 2003's cargo train set was the only train set i've ever payed full price for. (...) (...) [snip price per part analysis] (...) I can wait... I think the engine is cool. The self propelled crane is cool even if it is simple, but the other cars well... the nicest thing I can say is that there are three more cars. To spend $150 I need (...) (...) Yes, that could be... that's why I was asking, since I know some of the people that frequent this list have had a test run with the new trains. (...) Hmmm, that might even be a translation issue between US english and CAN english. As far as I (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jun-06, to lugnet.trains)

(...) According to instructions (available from LEGO.COM) loco for set 7898 needs 6 AA batteries and remote needs 3 AA batteries. Saso (18 years ago, 30-Jun-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New RC Trains Are Posted on LEGO.COM

(...) I think you're reading too much into what's probably a translation from the original. It says 'remote control', not 'controller' anyway. 6 for the train, yes. I didn't see inside the remote of David's preview one, but 3 AAs giving you 4.5V (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jun-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New RC Trains Are Posted on LEGO.COM

(...) I think that's unlikely. More likely they'll just put the new parts on LEGO Factory so you can assemble your own track packs. Clearly, they still can't count how many curves it takes to rectify a point though. Jason R (18 years ago, 30-Jun-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LDD Signal Box for Save 9V Trains Contest (and John Neal)

(...) The reason that low sloped roof had little bobbles on the end instead of ridges all the way along the top was becaue I only ended up with two 2x2 33° ridges. I think it actually looks better like that. No ridges in LDD though. Jason R (18 years ago, 30-Jun-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: New RC Trains Are Posted on LEGO.COM

(...) Which, functionally, means that straights are $2 apiece. Hmm. I wonder if, instead of binning them, you could use the curves structurally in landscape sections, much like Thomas Rafert has with (URL) makes a ~16x16 grid of bricks to desired (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jun-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New RC Trains Are Posted on LEGO.COM

(...) Okay wait... the description says "Remote control requires 9 AA (1.5v) batteries, not included." AND the train takes?? 6??? That must be a typo (could it be 3 for the remote, and 6 for the train???) Is it just me, or does 15 AA batteries sound (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jun-06, to lugnet.trains)

New RC Trains Are Posted on LEGO.COM

The new RC trains have been released on LEGO.com. The Cargo set is expensive at $149.00 (URL) switch tracks are less expensive than the regular switch tracks. Someone needs to figure out how to convert them for 9V. (URL) track is a little more (...) (18 years ago, 29-Jun-06, to lugnet.trains) !
