I love how you always try to stick to real minifig scale and cover your MOCs with countless little details.

About the dry ice: Isolating the dry ice with any material like felt or cotton should protect the plastic.

I don’t want to sound pesimistic but I believe that this bucket won’t work quite right for the intended effect. The “smoke” that you get from dry ice is somewhat heavier than air and will “spill” from the bucket. If the contact between the bucket and the smokepipe is not fairly closed, it the smoke will fall inside the body rather than move up the smokestack.

Give it a try anyway...

If it doesn’t work, try a taller container.

Hi All, Well, after at least 8 months of on-again off-again effort, I've finally finished up my 4-8-4 Northern Steam Engine: (URL) The most amazing thing to me was the sheer size of the engine; I stayed true to a minifig-compatible scale of a little (...)
