Re: bad news for train enthusiasts!

(...) As a suspension bridge enthusiast I'm also reading about how bridge authorities are cracking down on people taking pictures of their bridges - all a result of 9/11. You don't need pictures to figure out how to take out a suspension bridge. You (...) (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

  bad news for train enthusiasts!

Hello folks I bring you bizarre train-related news from the UK: (URL) last paragraph really says more than the actual printed words ever could :-) Next, they'll probably stop publishing timetables altogether ... Colin (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: BR50 now done as ML-CAD drawing and rendered....

(...) Hi Ben Many thanks for sharing the dat-files of your fine train models. I have studied the pictures of the Br50 and you have put on Bricklink many times. With access to the dat-file it is much easier to understand the construction. I will (...) (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: DCC for the RCX

(...) Oh My Goodness! This is what I've been waiting for--when I priced out DCC controllers, they were 200+ CDN... If I can get one of my many RCX's to do it, well that's entirely another matter. When I originally did the research and found the cost (...) (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.trains)

  Re: DCC for the RCX

(...) Mark, nice work, this is very sweet. Makes me wish I had some DCC LEGO train motors even more. I guess one day I need to get off my fanny and put some together. I will bookmark this for sure, since I'm sure I'll be wanting to use it in the (...) (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: 2003 Trains Now on Shop At Home

(...) That is really wierd. I think it was an early mistake while putting it on their web site. As far as I can see, it looks like the mistake(s) are cleared up (my country is set to Canada, and my language is set to English). I like the price on (...) (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

  DCC for the RCX

Hello All, I've completed a new bit of firmware that enables the RCX to act as a DCC Command Station. For those who are not familiar, DCC (short for Digital Command Control) is a means of sending electrical signals over model railroad tracks to (...)   Re: 2003 Trains Now on Shop At Home

(...) Hi Stefan, that is really amazing. The German translation tells the same: batteries are needed, but not included. Have they mixed up batteries with the speed regulator? Or mixed up 9V trains with the description of duplo trains? I cannot (...) (21 years ago, 27-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 2003 Trains Now on Shop At Home

Why do the Cargo train and the Hi-Speed train say they need batteries? Anyone know? I can't remember Lego trainsets ever needing batteries. -Stefan- (...) (21 years ago, 27-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

BR50 now done as ML-CAD drawing and rendered....

Hi all! the amount of positive feedback on my first CAD-models encouraged me to do a further model in ML-CAD now. It took nearly 7 hours to draw the existing model of my 7-wide BR50. Especially the flexible hose generator took me some time, before I (...) (21 years ago, 27-May-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad, lugnet.announce.moc) !

Re: Compatibility of Duplo Intelli-trains with older Duplo trains

Hi! I have one of the Duplo battery trains from when I worked as a model builder. We pulled out the old track and new track that my new daughter has when her cousins were over. Old train with new smart elements: Sometimes it stops the train, mostly (...) (21 years ago, 27-May-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.duplo)

New G10 freight car in brown and some minor but magnificient changes for the yellow G10

Hi, recently I have completely rebuild my yellow G10 freight waggon. I had enough yellow lamp bricks to exchange them with the red ones I have used before. I've changed the sliding door mechanism. And thanks to Jürgen B. from München (Munich) which (...) (21 years ago, 27-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Train Switch Modification on Ebay

I'd like some, I was the one who e-mailed though Ebay asking If I can buy & wait a week to pay... then I realized that it'll reply-to my dad's e-mail, so I'd never get the reply, is it ok? I'd go bid now if its ok w/ you... Josh (21 years ago, 26-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Train Switch Modification on Ebay

(...) I've seen a few others do this modification, but to my knowledge, I was the first to do this type of modification back in mid 98' on my LEGO switching layout. In addition, I think I'm the first one to do this modification without actually (...) (21 years ago, 26-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Compatibility of Duplo Intelli-trains with older Duplo trains

(...) Yes, same track. But I think it is a different color, nothing major. (...) The way the sound elements interact with the train depends on which driver you have driving the train. The instructions tell you exactly what the differences are. Here (...) (21 years ago, 26-May-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.duplo)
