Hi,

recently I have completely rebuild my yellow G10 freight waggon. I had
enough yellow lamp bricks to exchange them with the red ones I have used
before. I've changed the sliding door mechanism. And thanks to Jürgen B.
from München (Munich) which has bought 1 kg of LEGO (brown and tan bricks
and plates, esp. the 8 wide plates were missing) for me in Legoland
Deutschland, I was able to build a copy in brown.

Ok, it's not really a copy. I think in some details it is much more perfect
than the yellow one. Have a look at the triangle junction tin plate (in
german "Knotenblech").

And the idea of a junction plate to guide the sliding door was first
invented in the brown G10 and then I also made this change for the yellow
G10. Before this change the door was always slighly hanging down. The whole
sliding mechanism for the doors has been revised, as stated above, resulting
in a stiffer construction and a better sliding characteristic.

The ladders of the brown G10 look smarter than those of the yellow G10.

And I changed the standard LEGO wheels to an own construction. This
construction has moore clearance so that the steering of the wheels with
rubber bands is no longer necessary. Last but not least, I've decided do
dismiss the magnetic couplings and use technic plates instead. By this I
could achive a more realistic look and the bumpers went into to right
height. Another point is that most of my 8-wide MOCs are really heavy and so
it happens very often that unwelcome decoupling occurs.

Hope you like it. Anyone interested in building instructions? Just thinking
about to make some.

And as usual,

let the bricks roll...

Dirk
