Well, it's about lunchtime here 8?)
I think this stems mostly from non-Lego MRR, where things like DCC have given
people a lot of neat ways to do things like that. I kinda like the idea of that
stuff, too, and if I still had all my HO stuff I reckon I'd be right into it,
but I doubt it'd carry over into my Lego building (if I had any time for
that!). But with Lego I guess I'm "old-school" - I like to use the parts as
they are. The only non-Lego I've used in MOCs is string & lead weight.
I think if you're happy modifying Lego to do this stuff, that's cool. But I
don't think I ever will. And I'd personally be disappointed to see Lego going
down the DCC path.
