First off, the EMD SD's and other 6 axles...
SD7, high nose: http://archive.trainpix.com/BN/EMDORIG/SD7/6033.HTM
Features: curved roof, curved fuel tank, little Dynamic Brake housing
(angled vent half way along the long hood).
SD9: http://archive.trainpix.com/BN/EMDORIG/SD9/6123.HTM
Features: Curved roof, curved tank, no DB, or db. Hard to tell apart from SD7.
SD10: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/tr_dme553.jpg
Features: Hard to find anymore, pic it out from the strange vent behind the cab.
SD18: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/tr_co7306.jpg
Features: Um, yeah, look at the one peice front window, only a SD26 (6
axle), RS27, and GP9 (both w/ 4 axles) have the same.
SD20: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/tr_icg2028.jpg
Features: Oooh, the angled roof comes in...
SD26: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/tr_sf4668.jpg
Features: Help me!
SD24: http://archive.trainpix.com/BN/EMDORIG/SD24/6245.HTM
Features: oh, don't worry, only two still exist, both green & yellow, and
both in the Green Bay WI area!
SD28: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/tr_cagy701.jpg
Features: SD28!?
SD35: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/tr_prr6034.jpg
Features: Great, back to the vents on the side...
SD38-2 http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/tr_eje661.jpg
Features: Um, notice the shortened venta at the rear
SD39: http://archive.trainpix.com/BNSF/EMDORIG/SD39/6207.HTM
Features: looks like a SD40-2, minus the long walkways at the ends
SDL39: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/wc583.jpg
Features, You tell me!
SD40X: http://gelwood.railfan.net/other/up/up3045.jpg
Features: Here the SD45 vents come into paly, but with the longer ends
SD40: http://archive.trainpix.com/BN/EMDORIG/SD40/6335.HTM
Features: long ends
