Thanks! :)

No, your instincts are right on :) It's too tall for minifig "scale" I think
(although I think if you go by minifig side-to-side width then it's fine
(but that makes minifigs something like 4'6" or something))
It's actually modelled at a scale based roughly on (get this!) how far apart
a train engine's wheels are, since that's the ONE thing I knew I wouldn't
have any control over. And as it turns out, it makes the wheel base about 1
brick too tall, but otherwise, most of it is pretty accurate scale-wise,
within 1 brick in length (roughly) and 1 or two plates in height (roughly).
Actually, I was overjoyed that according to my calculations, each window
"should" have been something like 3.9 studs wide and 3.3 studs tall-- it
almost PERFECTLY fit the 1x4x3 window size :) Yet another reason to go 8-wide :)

If used as 2 side by side, then yeah... But really I guess I wanted to get
all 4 columns of windows into the model if possible, which would mean making
the doors 8 wide using 1x2x3 windows. It might not actually look too bad
using just 4 (2 columns of windows), but I dunno... In my lack of ANY
1x2x3's I didn't really consider them or test them... but they might
actually look really good... The only bad part being that I'd need 24 to
complete all the doors :(

We had two floor crashes at our last show, and fortunately, they were both
recoverable, but due to the lack of straighforwarness in the design and the
lack of any sturdy construction in the middle, I'm not sure I could
reassemble it from memory, basically... :(

Of course the real reason I did it 8 wide was just to annoy all those
6-wide'ers out there ;)
