A funny thing happened while I was reading this thread. I got a call from the local chapter of the NMRA, the SER-Piedmont Division. I came across this web site during an "altavista" search for "lego train". (URL) is a LEGO train controlled via an internet interface with a picture of the train layout updated every 10 seconds. I've tried it out. I'm not sure the train moved or (...) (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains)

Even though I agree that we (LTCs) don't "need" the NMRA, I do enjoy attending the meetings here locally. I find it very educational and really pick up a lot of good ideas that I might have missed.
