Re: Why Does Everyone else here get a good deal!!!!!

(...) Yup! I found the Guarded Inn at a used toy store for $15, including box, near-mint parts, instructions and a 1989 European catalog (this was in the US, btw). I have yet to replicate that deal! Finding garage sale and other second-hand deals (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Why Does Everyone else here get a good deal!!!!!

Hello Braden: At the risk of being really off topic. You have to change your strategy. The probability of finding exactly what you are looking for at a great price is low. The probability of finding something that others are looking for is (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Why Does Everyone else here get a good deal!!!!!

(...) It is all in the timing. Don't worry though; many of us who were around for the Metro Liner were not around for some of the older classics, 7740, 7745, 7725 (to name a few). (...) The doors are held on by 1x2x2 thin walls. They are like the (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: What did you guys pay for it??? Estonia?, better not be!

THAT IS NOT FUNNY. I was actually in Southern Estonia last summer, and saw a lego outlet type place, and after some discussion it was decided to keep walking onwards to the center of the town. Are you telling me there was a metroliner on it's shelf (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Fast Train Noses

In lugnet.trains, Braden Fox writes: <Snip> (...) I payed 150$ CAN (100$US)for mine in 1995. I got it from a small store that had put it on special because the box had some shelf ware. For your layout, have you considered a soccer stadium or a race (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Sponsorships (was: WWLTA)

(...) Oh, I'll take this bait: LEGO paid about 80% of the costs to get the GMLTC and our layout out to Carlsbad. That's it. That's *every* "sponsorship" deal the GMLTC has ever received. We lose money on every show we do, even the occasional show (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

  Container size and new MOC's

Well, even though I said I wouldn't be making any rolling stock for a while, I made some anyway. I made a flat bed with a truck trailer on it and a box car. The highlights are that both the box car and the trailer have makeshift working doors. (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Cleaning LEGO track
