Re: FOTY - Xmas in July

(...) What about building? Do you consider building part of playing? I mean, building is a totally different option. You should have put 'playing, collecting, and BUILDING'!! Anyway, I disagree with that. You can collect, play, and build(-::-), all (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: train display shelf at work

I used LEGO as a demo at Comdex one year for some video stuff (an always moving non-human subject). I thought about setting up a tack at the office in a ping-pong config using Mindstorms to control it. But on second thought I'm not sure why I'd do (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New train MOCs

(...) In general, yes. But SR and N&W tended to run long hood first (for crash protection) so saw no reason to have a low hood on what to them was the "back end", since low hoods actually cost more, IIRC (the steel fab work for a high nose was less (...)   Re: New train MOCs

(...) Southern and Norfolk & Western (predecessor roads of Norfolk Southern) typically got high nose versions of stuff, well into the 80s, IIRC. So I'd say GP38 is very possible although I don't have the Diesel Spotters Guide cite to prove it. Tom (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: FOTY - Xmas in July

G'Day Ya gotta decide if you want to play OR collect. Playing is much more fun. I mean what is the point of having LEGO sitting in a box ! it should be in ones hands so you can feel it, and then enjoy your finished creations. Cheers Oliver My 1 1/2 (...)
