Re: Anyone ever build the Glacier Express?

(...) I built some cars and a loco modelled after this line. Unfortunately I don't have any really decent pictures of it. You can see it on these pages: (URL) both show the less-prototypical cars better than the very prototypical engine and (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 2126 Missing Pieces?

Hi Mike, I own 15 sets of 2126 right now, but I noticed no missing pieses so far. Regards, Ben (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Longest train...

(...) Yes, this is the normal use of the term, it is usually used with electric power supplies...Steam wasn't rated in the same way, when you use HEP from the prime mover (read the Diesel that drives the train) there is less power to move the (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 2126 Missing Pieces?

(...) the black 1x2 brick hinges, there were two male pieces and no female. I went through 8 sets and ended with 7 female and 9 male. Weird, kinda. At least it wasn't a really rare piece replaced with a common one, like a glass 1x4x5 left door (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Longest train...

(...) Head End Power. That is, engines on the front instead of spliced into the middle as mid train helpers, or pushing from behind as "regular" helpers. In American practice, I believe HEP isn't used that way, and it's just referred to as what's (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Future plans

(...) Toss the 4561 shroudplate as it's not going to be much help. Build your engine frame from plates and use a technic plate as a place to pivot your trucks. Or use the red wagon plate still available from S@H if you like red... This question (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  2126 Missing Pieces?

I received a couple of 2126 ((URL) this week and assembled the first one last night. This is the first LEGO set that I have had that is missing pieces. It is missing two (a black ladder and a black 1x4 plate with hinge fingers) and has a few extra (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Do decals come off?

(...) I'd be cautious about using any sort of soluvant to remove stickers. I used some "goo-gone" or something like that to remove the sticker goo on the back of a CD case and ended up having the stuff eat the cd case! (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Future plans

Yesterday I picked up a second 4559, next on the agenda (soon) two or three 4561s...the car chassis from the 4559s will be turned into TTX type flatcars and the passenger cars from 4561s will be "modified to create better looking passenger cars...my (...)   9v idea book: expanding on what I said earlier

There is going to be one hard and fast rule for this book. All models for which instructions are shown have to use elements that have been used by TLG in a recent set that people are likely to be able to get. This is an idea book so everything we (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 9v train idea book: I might be making one, anyone interested?

  Re: Longest train...
