Re: Sava Railways' #982 "Lady" (with Big Ben's Medium Drivers)

(...) Thanks! I've been toying with the idea of adding flags to all of my locos, but I'll probably stop with the "older" models where'd they'd be more appropriate and fit in better. --Tony (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Sava Railways' #982 "Lady" (with Big Ben's Medium Drivers)

(...) Thanks John! She was a fun build, I started her the day I got the new drivers. I'm just a little disappointed that the new drivers can't be stacked close together like the larger versions, but only just a little. Overall they perform very well (...)   Re: Take a Ride on the Reading ( 0-6-0T Reading Switcher using Big Ben Bricks New Medium Drivers)

(...) I just wanted to add a 'me too' to your steamer. I really can't add anything that hasn't already been said or addressed. I agree that the tank shroud around the boiler could be more smooth, but the aforementioned cheese slope additions should (...) (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: New racer windshield/train roof

(...) Very sweet, I hope we get a 2x1 version as well. Looks like it's in white as well as black: (URL) I also noticed a dark bley center drop train base. And new cab top peice: (2 URLs) And check out the microtrain: (URL) And a new (...) (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.inv, lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts)

  New racer windshield/train roof

Maybe I'm late to noticing this but check out the 'windshield' on the next batch of racers: (URL) Looks to me like a VERY useful part. Jonathan (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.inv, lugnet.trains)

Re: Take a Ride on the Reading ( 0-6-0T Reading Switcher using Big Ben Bricks New Medium Drivers)

(...) Thanks Ben I tried out the 1x1 slopes. It definitely helps smooth things out more. The cab interior still needs a bit of work. I,m not quite happy with the detailing yet. The cramped space makes it challenging. I'll get some pics up in the (...) (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

British Class 35 "Hymek" Loco with Power Functions

New photos on Brickshelf of my 8mm scale Class 35 Hymek loco ("Bear" from the Thomas stories), now with added Power Functions: (URL) can see the window of the PF IR receiver towards the right end of the roof here: (URL) odd bit in the middle of the (...)   Re: Hiawatha steam locomotive

(...) Oh, that's fantastic news, Benn! Although the brown is perhaps closer in tonal value to the Hi's dark red, it seemed a bit odd to me to go with that color instead of TLG's dark red. I'm very excited to see your "repaint"! :-) I will be (...) (17 years ago, 24-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Hiawatha steam locomotive

(...) Hi Cale (and Tony), thanks as well for the kind words. As background, the Hi has three sets of wheels, I chose to fix the pilot truck and the drivers to the boiler, using only one set of flanged drivers. Without reworking the whole mechanics, (...)   Re: Hiawatha steam locomotive

(...) Hey John, thanks for the kind words. Indeed, Ross might be one of the best steam builders out there. I don't know how you manage to get those huge trains moving with the little 9v motors, but they are slick. I'm happy with my quiet little (...) (17 years ago, 24-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Pittsburgh & Lake Erie RR Caboose and Hopper

(...) ... (...) ... (...) WOW! To get all of that interior detail is incredible (even in 8 wide, grin). Very nice. Benn (17 years ago, 24-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Take a Ride on the Reading ( 0-6-0T Reading Switcher using Big Ben Bricks New Medium Drivers)

(...) ... (...) ... (...) Hi Cale, to get some of the curve while keeping the detail, you could split the difference and use 1x1 cheese slopes in place of the top 1x8 & 1x1 tiles. In any event, the build clearly shows a lot of attention to detail, I (...) (17 years ago, 24-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: building a 4-4-0 American with BBB wheels, advice wanted

(...) I used the the little LEGO wheels; the small BBB wheels weren't available yet, and the little wheels allow me to keep the wheels from interfering with the cylinder and pistons. I think they look a little small, but they're OK for the time (...) (17 years ago, 24-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: building a 4-4-0 American with BBB wheels, advice wanted

(...) I had very good luck using small and large BBB wheels for my 4-4-0 American on my Christmas Train project. See what I did here: (URL) the tender I just used a 9V engine, but if you had some other power method then two bogies with a total of 8 (...) (17 years ago, 22-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Pittsburgh & Lake Erie RR Caboose and Hopper

Yes, These are really awesome! The Caboose is amazing and the hoppers are fantastic as well! Very cool to see your model sitting on the real thing. (17 years ago, 21-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Pittsburgh & Lake Erie RR Caboose and Hopper

(...) snip... Wow. You have really packed in the detail here, I think the caboose is quite astonishing. Probably one of the best train models I have seen... An instatant favourite. Chris (17 years ago, 21-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Sava Railways' #982 "Lady" (with Big Ben's Medium Drivers)
