Re: Lego factory sets / building instructions

(...) Hi Ville, Unfortunately, there's no simple way to get the typical LEGO instructions experience with Factory. Often LDD's automatic instruction steps aren't well organized and sometimes impossible to follow. It's better if the model author (...) (18 years ago, 25-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd)

CAD sketches of Swedish and one Danish train

Hello! I've not been doing any Lego-building or -CADding for a very long time now, and I've come to realize that I probably won't be doing it for a long time to come either. So finally I decided to post a couple of half-finished CAD sketches of (...) (18 years ago, 24-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX) !!

NELUG Display at the Great Train Expo

On November 18th and 19th, (URL) NELUG> put on a wonderful display at The Great Train Expo in Wilmington, MA. (URL) Our layout continues to grow, and this display was no exception. We filled a 13' x 26' layout with everything from water to carnival (...)   Re: Has Babylon Fallen?

(...) Hmm, we should probably check my math. I think at the time I was having trouble finding inexpensive 3-foot electrical cables to chop in half, but I think $80 would pay for materials for more sensors than I usually bring to a train show. (...) (18 years ago, 23-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Has Babylon Fallen?

(...) Yeah, I almost took you up on the offer. When I designed a trolley line, I thought wouldn't it be cool if the trolley crosses the main line I realize that I'd need reed switches. Then I realized that even at your cost I need $80 worth of (...) (18 years ago, 23-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Has Babylon Fallen?

(...) The (URL) reed switch sensors> are a bit tricky. There's not much room to work with, so you've gotta use pretty small switches. And they are very easy to break, basically being tiny glass tubes. (About half of my sensors no longer work.) For (...) (18 years ago, 23-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Has Babylon Fallen?

(...) Thanks! They were (URL) easy to make>, really. Too bad those dual light elements are so hard to come by these days. But two factors make them difficult to deploy: 1 getting them onto the layout before there is too much other stuff on the (...) (18 years ago, 23-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Has Babylon Fallen?

(...) Oh yeah! I remember seeing those at a show before I joined NELUG. I went out that day and bought some reed switches. The next day I spent a few hours burning my fingers and melting the things together. I never did get them to work properly. (...) (18 years ago, 23-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains)

(...) [...] (...) You know, it was always fun talking with you at the events, but I have got to admit, I _really_ miss those crossing gates that you have. Those things are AWESOME. Chris (18 years ago, 23-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Has Babylon Fallen?

(...) The new le Gorge is le river. It is a lot longer than le Gorge used to be, and you are correct, it isn't as deep. Le River is Jonathan's baby. Elroy (white truss bridge), Jonathan (red stone arch bridge), and I black I-beam) built the bridges (...) (18 years ago, 23-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Lego factory sets / building instructions

(...) Hi Ville, You have to download the LDD file and load it into LDD. Then you can either switch to instructions mode, using the button near bottom left, and then create instructions button, which generates instructions in HTML, or export the (...) (18 years ago, 22-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains)

Lego factory sets / building instructions

Hey, I bought following James Mathis's factory sets from shop@home: - euro diesel prewar v1 - db103 v1 - early 1900s passanger coach Sets arrived today and I noticed that there is no printed instructions with parts. Is it any easier method (like (...) (18 years ago, 22-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Has Babylon Fallen?

(...) Sounds like a typical number of members on a much larger layout than I remember. Last time I was at a show, we had a 10'x20' display. NELUG sure has come a long way since (URL) our first train show>, that's for certain! I think I have a (URL) (...) (18 years ago, 22-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Has Babylon Fallen?

  Re: Has Babylon Fallen?

(...) Due to the amount of time for setup, Jonathan opted to leave some of his buildings home this time, so that made the city section smaller. To compensate for this, we opted to add in some green space in the carnival section. When we got to the (...) (18 years ago, 22-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Any 9v train update?

They are also selling the new Holiday train as both (...) (18 years ago, 22-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Thanksgiving Teaser

But then again, since it's a model of a toy made out of toys, that was probably the goal :) Serious, I think that trolley car is the only reason I used to watch that show. Very (...)
